If you intend to use this with your iphone, forget it! This unit produces random buzzing throughout the night. Support has been useless and there is no solution for this issue. This clearly is an engineering flaw because there is inadequate shielding around the speaker and amp. I would have thought Sony would have tested this unit before shipping it..

Glad I received the product for free, and the company that gave it said it was valued at $132. The sound quality is TERRIBLE! Bass…there is none! A major flop by Sony. I chose this product to use in the kitchen while cooking and washing dishes. The sound for a small kitchen in an apartment is awful. If you are getting it for a toddler, they ‘may’ be happy with it. If you are seeking a quality sound…keep searching! If you use it primarily as an alarm clock and the music will play only long enough to wake you and for you to hit the snooze button then this may be the product for you.

I like to listen to talk radio in the morning. I was dismayed to discover I couldn’t pick up a single AM station until I plugged the clunky spool of wire that constitutes an AM antenna into the back of this unit. I can go down to Walgreen’s and buy a $10 clock radio that will pick up AM/FM stations without external antennae, so you’re telling me that a $100 Sony clock radio has to have a rat’s nest of wire cluttering up the limited real estate of my night stand???
I’m on here right now looking for an alternative so I can box this thing back up and return it to Best Buy.

I thought this device was perfect for the bedroom, as my spouse and I both have iPhones. After one of the iPhone upgrades from Apple, the Sony stopped recognizing the iPhone; it wouldn’t charge, it wouldn’t play, nothing. After calling customer service, the guy told me that the device was only certified to work w/ first-generation iPhones (note that this was nowhere on the box or the manual), and that I would have to revert back to my old version of iPhone software to make it work! I looked in the manual, and where it lists all of the different generations of iPods this thing supposedly works with, it only said “works with iPhone”. After sitting on hold for over two hours, I was told Sony would not send me a product that worked, or refund my money. DO NOT BUY!!!!

Within 15 months, the display just stopped working, so the time and most other functionality also stopped working. Sent the unit to repair center and they couldn’t fix. Fortunately I had a insurance contract, so I’m getting my money back.
