I am giving this a 1 star rating as there is no zero star option. If it worked properly I would have rated it around a 4. The sound (from the left speaker/channel) sounds good, has good bass, and can handle the highs. A little washed out in the highs but what do you expect for the price. The sub works wonderfully and actually puts out a fair amount of thump. Now for the important part… the right channel has about 1/10th of the volume as the left channel. If I turn the volume up to a quarter on my computer I can clearly hear the left speaker and the sub but nothing out of the right speaker. If I hold the right speaker to my ear I can faintly hear the music. You would think this was simply a defect in mine but I actually bought two of these, one for each of my daughters, and guess what… both do the exact same thing. Great sound on the left and no sound on the right. My suggestion would be to buy something else as having two speaker systems bought at different times with the exact same issue is not a coincidence.
Ok, after continued trial and error the problem is with the volume switch, not the right channel. The wire that goes from your computer to the sub has a volume knob built in and this appears to be the problem. I grabbed the wire from my old speakers and once plugged in and turned on the speakers work just fine. They seem a little more annoying sound wise like there is no mids (just treble and a sub) but again, you get what you pay for. Based on it being the cable and not the system I have changed the rating to a 3. Buy at your own risk.

100 Watt system ya right! I know speakers, I’m studying to be an electrical engineer. I bought a 17 watt speaker system and the pair of speakers were only 8 watt, but were a lot more powerful than this 100 watt system. The subwoofer isn’t even as powerful as the 40 watt subwoofer for my other computer speaker system. I would say this subwoofer is only 25 watt and the speakers are 5 watt, so together that’s about 30 watt not 100 watt. I wanted some computer speakers that were fairly powerful for a cheaper price and this is what I get. This is not a powerful speaker system (definitely not 100 watt), the speakers aren’t very loud at all, the sound quality is bad (not very clear sound) and there is a lot of distortion when the volume is turned up more than halfway. The only good thing is there is a lot of bass compared to sound but that’s because the speakers aren’t loud! Also the cords are way too short and not very accommodating. If you want good sound quality/crystal clear sound, very minimal distortion (if any) and louder speakers then go with Logitech. I also have Logitech speakers and they’re great! This looks great but it’s NOT! DON’T BUY THIS SPEAKER SYSTEM IT’S HORRIBLE!

Just received these speakers yesterday and set them up this morning to try them out. Right out of the box, they were easy to set up, plugging right into my Zune HD dock. They have their own volume controls: a knob on the bass speaker and a corded remote, but once I turned them on, I was able to use the wireless remote that came with my Zune.
The sound is good, they definitely have enough volume for me, and the adjustable bass is a nice touch. These are far better than the little Sony speakers I have been using.
I plan to use these in my home office and believe they will work beautifully for that purpose.
Great bargain for the price!
